Michael Fassbender will star in Kung Fury, the feature-length sequel to David Sandberg's cult short film.
THR reports Fassbender has been cast in the movie along with David Hasselhoff, who appeared in the original Kung Fury. No word yet on who Fassbender will be playing. He'll be joined by Sandberg, who'll star in and produce the sequel under his Laser Unicorns’ banner.
Sandberg wrote and directed the original 2015 short film, which pays homage to 1980s martial arts and police action movies. Kung Fury broke records on Kickstarter and has gained a large cult following, amassing over 40 million views worldwide. The sequel will begin filming this summer in the U.S. and Europe.
